“信号"是在西部联合驻留计划的支持下，在青海西宁市完成的一个在地性项目。
在我开车深入中国西部1800公里后，我体验到一种无法解释的沟通欲望，特别希望能与这片广阔的大地，还有当地人的交流。在这段时间里，我印象最为深刻的发现是，无论身处沙漠还是戈壁，我在旅途中始终能够保持稳定的4G讯号，这使我特别注意了遍布城市屋顶和乡野的信号基站和信号塔。
通过对这些硬件设施的仔细研究，我将这个项目被分为三个互补的部分，同步实施。1，在获得了作为当地摄影师的市民中心主任的私下许可，我在社区街道的市民中心房顶上搭建了一个与标准版本的信号基站略有差异的信号塔雕塑。受益于主任的观照，这座“基站”或许会在这座城市中存在很长时间。2，“西宁当代”这个艺术空间位于市中心的一条社区道路上，邻居是杂货店和其他小型企业。我重新装修了它的外观和内部空间，使其成为一处看似标准的西联汇款的分支机构，但我对其细节进行了一些修改：例如使用“West Region Union”在语义上对应于邀请我的“西部联合驻留项目”，也可以被解读为“西部地区的工会组织”，logo中的信号塔也带有自愿使用的TM标识。3，项目的第三个地点发生在街道市民中心二楼的展览空间。我将自己沿途对西部城市的信号塔和信号基站的图像记录汇总，做成一个具有社会主义浪漫色彩的类型摄影展。只不过从现场上来看，主办方是一家名为“西联汇臆”的公司的总工会，所有照片均出自该公司的优秀职工。

Signal is a recent project that may take place much longer than its exhibition duration in the city of Xining where is on the edge of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in north-west China.
After driving 1800 kilometers into the west China, I found unexplainable wishful for communicating to the openness of the lands and possibly the local people. During the time, I found interesting that I am constantly online with stable 4G signals all along the journey, which brought me a special attention to the signal base stations and signal towers which installed all over the streets and rooftops.
With carefully studied on those facilities, the project was divided to 3 complementary parts for construction: I built up a slightly different version of structure on Xiaoqiao Civic Center’s roof, which is a replicated sculpture with private permit and support from a local photographer friend who is also being the director of that building. I also renovate another artist-run space that locates on a local community’s roadside, with a grocery store and other small businesses. I changed its looking as a standard Western Union branch, with several editing to the money shop’s slogans, like "West Region Union", its signal tower looking logo and "Opinion in Minutes Around the World". In the third venue, I made a photographic typology exhibition on signal bases and towers in the Civic Center that namely present by the worker's union of the "West Region Union".

Western Region Union Information Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Western Region Union") was formed on August 1, 2018 on the basis of the original Western Union Telegraph and the former Joined West Residency Project. There has no branch in many countries and regions outside the country. It is a telecommunication product operating company that hasn't gone public in New York, Hong Kong or Shanghai. Western Region Union's business advantages rely on COS, ZQSG and CCDVCD standard wireless network value-added technology. Mainly engaged in the installation business of communication base stations, and see related information transmission services such as information sending and receiving.
Western Region Union has a communication network covering the whole country and reaching the world. It actively promotes the diversification of mobile messages and provides all-round and high-quality hypothetical expressing and forwarding services for users. In September 2018, Western Region Union won the 1G license for the COS system, which is the most immature technology, the least widely used, and the most difficult to complete the industry chain in the world today. It owns well-known customer brands such as "messaging in the chest", "Whimsical", "Ideas get to the heaven" and more.
On the 14th of this month, the company's first branch will be opened at the original site of Xining Contemporary, 100 meters away from the entrance of Youyuan Lane, Chengzhong District, Xining City. The next day, the "Western Region Union Outstanding Staff Photography Exhibition" hosted by the General Labor Union of our company will be held on the 2nd floor, No. 1, Xixinhai Lane, Xiaoqiao Cross, Chengbei District, Xining City. 信号 — 西联汇臆优秀职工摄影展
中秋节来临之际，由西联汇臆总工会携手西宁当代、立方体艺术馆和小桥艺术空间联合举办“信号:西联汇臆优秀职工摄影展”，与广大西部观众见面。
长期以来，我工会践行进企业、访职工、办实事、促发展，让自身的纽带作用得到了充分发挥。让广大职工争做行业行家里手的同时，更做有文化、有爱好、有审美的中国梦践行者。
本次展览在各级工会组织的响应和广大摄影爱好者的支持下，共收到作品二百余件，择优展出五十余件，用新视觉、用新作品、展新风貌、看新变化。用艺术的眼光，全力诠释近几年来的西联建设成果，以及在劳动风貌的动人时光。这些作者既是事件的亲历者，也是记录和审视者。他们是文化深入生活的先行者，他们的创作均是出自一线的感受，是艺术扎根人民的写照。本次展出的作品，正是我司职工摄影人辛勤耕耘的硕果，内心世界的映照。这些作品的完成，用的不光是镜头，同时还有心灵。用心去感受他们的探索与追求，便能体会到这群优秀职工们的可爱和热诚。
工会推进职工文化建设，陶冶职工情操、涵养品格，为广大职工提供一个交流的平台是我们义不容辞的职责。通过培养广大职工寻找美、发现美和创作美的能力，不断提高广大职工的政治和文化艺术素养，最终将推动企业生产创造的发展和繁荣。
